100 Days (2001) (view trailer here) A local Hutu official is persuaded to implement the government's policy against the Tutsi: To completely wipe them out. Josette, a beautiful young Tutsi girl struggles to survive the killing by taking refuge in a church, supposedly protected by the UNO forces. Meanwhile, Josette's brother is hunted down and murdered and her boyfriend rescued by the rebels. But the Hutu Catholic priest betrays Josette's family and only agrees to spare her life is to submit to the nightly violations. By the time she is reunited with her boyfriend, neither of them can face the brutal reality of their situation: she is pregnant and bears the priest's child, which she immediately abandons. 100 Days was shot in Kibuye, the beautiful landscape had been the back drop to some of the worst atrocities in 1994. It highlights the failures in government and intervention that allowed over 800,000 victims to be slaughtered in 100 days. Hotel Rwanda (view trailer here) The dramatized story of hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina, as he harbored more than a thousand Tutsi refugees from the Hutu militia in 1994.

The Devil Came on Horseback (view trailer here) The story of Brian Steidle, a former U.S. Marine Captain who witnessed the Darfur genocide as an official military observer, unable to stop the violence being perpetrated against Darfurians. Outraged at the inaction of the United States government and the world, Steidle resigns and returns to the United States to use his photographs to expose the horrors in Darfur.

The film gives insight into his mindset, his life today and his close relation to Pol Pot. The film is a unique story about an ex-leader the time before his arrest and before he is put on trial. Enemies of The People (view trailer here) The film depicts the 10-year quest of co-director Sambath to find truth and closure in the Killing Fields of Cambodia. The film features interviews of former Khmer Rouge officials from the most senior surviving leader to the men and women who slit throats during the regime of Democratic Kampuchea between 1975 and 1979. First they killed my father (view trailer here) This Cambodian–American Khmer language biographical historical thriller film directed by Angelina Jolie and written by Jolie and Loung Ung, is based on Ung's memoir of the same name. Set in 1975, the film depicts 7-year-old Loung, who is forced to be trained as a child soldier while her siblings are sent to labor camps during the Khmer Rouge regime. The Killing Fields (view trailer here and movie here) A 1984 British drama film about the Khmer Rouge’s regime in Cambodia in the 1970’s and the genocide that ensued, based on the experience of Cambodian journalist Dith Pran and American journalist Sydney Schanberg.

The documentary was used in the war crimes trial at The Hague. Vukovar poste restante (1994) This movie describes the violent break-up of former Yugoslavia from the Serbian point of view, using the story of ethnicly mixed couple in war-torn city of Vukovar as metaphore. Remember Vukovar (2008) This film illustrates the story of the siege of the Croatian town of Vukovar by the JNA and Serbian paramilitary forces in the autumn of 1991. Vukovar. The final cut (2006) (view movie preview here) This film represents an effort to create a truthful story about everything that happened in Vukovar, Croatia during the spring, summer and fall of 1991, as well as before, shortly after the tragic event of 1991, and what are the historical, social and emotional consequences after years of pain, suffering and disappointment.
